The typical application of a MAN is the Broadband Metropolitan Area Network (BMAN). It is a multimedia communication network deployed within city limits, utilizing IP and ATM telecommunication technologies as its foundation and optical fiber as the transmission medium. It integrates data, voice, and video services into a single platform, offering high bandwidth, multi-functional, and multi-service access capabilities.

Broadband MANs are designed to satisfy the surging demand for high-speed, high-quality data services from government agencies, financial institutions, educational institutions (schools and universities), and corporations. They are particularly crucial for addressing the broadband access needs of the rapidly expanding internet user base.

UX IC's high-performance transceiver chips, working in synergy with optical chips, deliver high-bandwidth connectivity via fiber. This solution meets the rigorous requirements of core MAN nodes tasked with processing massive volumes of user data.
